Mercury and Venus Station Direct on 14 November 2026: The Double Reset

Mercury and Venus station direct November 2026: two candle flames glowing in the dark

On 14 November 2026, two planets that have spent weeks appearing to run backwards both turn direct on the same day. Mercury stations direct at 5 degrees of Scorpio, and Venus stations direct at 22 degrees of Libra. Same-day stations are uncommon enough that astrologers pay attention, because they mark a point where thinking and feeling, communication and values, change direction together.

The dates and degrees

Mercury has been retrograde in Scorpio since 24 October. Cafe Astrology lists the direct station at 5 degrees 02 minutes of Scorpio on 13 November in US Eastern time, which is 14 November in Sydney. Mercury will then move through its post-retrograde shadow until it passes 20 degrees 59 minutes of Scorpio, around 30 November.

Venus turns direct at 22 degrees of Libra on the same date. Venus retrogrades are far slower and less frequent than Mercury’s, with a retrograde lasting about six weeks and only happening every year and a half or so. Check the exact times for your city with timeanddate.com, because the day can differ if you are in Western Australia or overseas.

What each planet stands for

Mercury is the planet of thought, speech, writing, trade and travel. Its retrograde is traditionally a period of reviewing and revising. Venus rules love, beauty, money, values and what we choose to keep close. Its retrograde is traditionally a time to reassess relationships, spending and self-worth.

Having both retrograde at once, as they have been since late October, puts communication and relationships under review at the same time. If you have found yourself rethinking a relationship, or finding old conversations resurfacing, this is the type of period astrologers say produces that.

What changes on the day

Nothing happens in a single moment. A station is the turning point, and the effects, if you work with them, build over the days either side. The usual advice is that the first few days after a direct station are still quiet. Planets move very slowly at that point, and it takes time before the movement picks up.

That means 14 November is a good day to review and a poor day to start. If you have been holding a decision, the next two weeks are when it becomes safe to move.

The shadow periods

Both planets still have shadow periods to clear. Mercury’s ends around 30 November. Venus takes longer, because its retrograde covers more ground. In practice, the best time for big launches, signings, and major relationship commitments is after the shadows clear, which for most people means December. If you can wait, wait.

What to do

Reread what you wrote. Over the last few weeks you may have drafted messages, notes or plans that you held back. Look at them again now and decide which ones still make sense. Some will feel more or less right than they did.

Have the conversation, but gently. Mercury direct frees up speech, and Venus direct softens it. If there is a talk you have been avoiding, the days after the station are kinder than the days before.

Revisit your money. Venus rules spending as well as love, so use the clean air to check subscriptions, budgets and purchases you made in the last six weeks. Return what you do not need while you still can.

A southern hemisphere note

This lands in the middle of spring and heads into the start of summer. Everything outside is moving fast, so the sense of the sky unlocking matches the weather. Many people also find mid November is when end-of-year pressure begins. Use the station as a prompt to get your commitments in order before December gets crowded.

A short ritual to mark it

Light two candles, one for each planet, and put them side by side. Read aloud one thing you reviewed during the retrograde that you are carrying forward and one thing you are letting go. Blow out the candle for what you are leaving behind and let the other burn down. It takes five minutes, and it gives the change of direction a clear edge.

What comes next

The Gemini full moon follows on 25 November, and December brings a cluster of stations and lunations, including Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune.
